Sometimes I’m sure that underneath my body in this city is a space where my sculpture
I feel the muck of this city layering itself on me.
When he says this, I feel heavy, and I yearn for a child.
I look up the effects of painting when you’re pregnant and they are bad.
I look up the effects of sculpting when you’re pregnant and they are worse.
I wake up in the night full of sweat.
I wake up late, and a circle of emptiness still sits in me where a child would be
which is the same place where a sculpture would be.
Stephanie said, don’t ask what you’d want more, but what would kill you most if you lost it.
When two things need to occupy the same space, the space remains empty.
When two things need to occupy the same space, the space disappears.
